His Girl Friday- Took me from Friday until Tuesday to finish it

Oh my god.  His Girl Friday might be my least favorite so far.  Even the handsome Cary Grant couldn't save this movie for me.    
It's like the director was like, "Hey!  You know what's super funny?  People talking really fast over each other for 2 hours".  And everyone was like "Fuck yeah let's do it!".  

I refuse to like this movie just because it's a classic.  Maybe I just know nothing about movies, but it's pretty high up on this list so I expected a lot more laughs.  I found it off-putting and annoying.  They thought that really fast overlapping dialogue would sound more realistic when really it just sounds like every movie from the 1940s.  They all talked really fast in movies.  But in His Girl Friday, everything happens way too fast to the point where it's distracting and annoying.  Most of this movie is the two main characters running around a room answering different telephones and then talking really loudly over each other.  That might be funny for like a one scene.  But not for an entire movie, especially when that's the only gag they have.  

I don't have it in me to make some joke about this movie because I feel like it added 10 years to my life.  It feels like it dragged me down.  That means it's probably time for Mrs. Doubtfire.  Like they say smoking takes years off your life, watching His Girl Friday was like chain-smoking 3 packs of menthols.     

Funny-o-meter: 1/10 in my personal opinion.  You might find it funny.  Let me know if you do because I want to meet such a person.    

There's no way it's funnier than movies like Animal House.  I'm starting to think the rankings are arbitrary.  
Granted, it's hard to compare different styles of comedy, but I didn't laugh once during His Girl Friday and it's number 19.
